Development Process
These elements can be customized and combined to define various development processes tailored to specific project types, such as standard production vehicles, model year updates, or special editions.
Once a development process is assigned to a project, it provides a roadmap for managing activities, monitoring progress, and tracking deliverable completion. The module allows for seamless integration with other Itineris tools, enabling real-time updates and visibility into key project metrics. It also supports scenario planning and efficiency analysis, helping identify opportunities for improvement and ensuring that projects stay on schedule and meet their quality objectives.
With the Development Process module, teams can standardize workflows, enhance collaboration, and maintain control over complex automotive projects.
The Development Process module provides a structured framework for managing the entire lifecycle of an automotive project, from concept to production. It defines critical elements such as Gateways, Development Phases, Technical Check Points, and the Commodity Plan, ensuring that each stage of the process is clearly outlined with specific deliverables and milestones.
- Gateways: Serve as decision points to evaluate the project’s readiness to move to the next phase. They ensure that all necessary deliverables for a particular stage are completed and validated.
- Development Phases: Break the project into manageable stages, such as Concept, Design, Prototype, Testing, and Production, each with unique objectives and tasks.
- Technical Check Points: Define key technical evaluations to ensure that components, systems, or the entire vehicle meet performance and quality standards.
- Commodity Plan: Specifies the material and component requirements, aligning procurement and design efforts with the overall development timeline.
